Kristina Lång, MD, PhD, is a senior consultant in breast imaging at Unilabs/Skåne University Hospital in Malmö and an associate professor at the Division of Diagnostic Radiology at Lund University, Sweden. Her research interests focus on optimizing breast cancer screening and exploring novel methods for breast cancer detection. Her thesis was on the use of breast tomosynthesis in screening. In 2017 to 2019, she did a postdoc at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ) working on an evaluation of the novel grating-interferometry mammography. Her current work includes the randomized controlled Mammography Screening with Artificial Intelligence trial (MASAI) and investigations on the use of AI for point-of-care ultrasound in low-resource settings. Dr. Lång has been an editor at the European Journal of Radiology between 2016 and 2023. She is the head of the Swedish national breast cancer screening guidelines group. She has twice been awarded the most cited breast imaging paper by the European Society of Breast Imaging.
